How to apply?

Deadlines for 2008 for submitting project proposals are the following:

29 February, 2008 (official decision letter will be sent end of March)

5 September, 2008 (official decision letter will be sent in first half of October)

Procedure

Application form can be downloaded here or sent to you by e-mail upon your request. Complete application, if possible, should be returned to the office by electronic mail.

In order to consider your application we need complete and precise information. Application is considered complete if no substantial information on the project is missing from the application form. The project should be worked out in detail, providing as much factual information as possible (Who, What, Where, When, How...).

An applicant (NGO, institution, individual...) can submit only one project proposal per application period. If the project has been refused once by the Local Board, the project can not be submitted in the same form again.

The application form should be completed in English. In case you need further assistance or clarifications in completing the application form you may contact the office directly.

With the application form please send information about the artistic work you, your group or organization has already done (CVs, photos, brochures, catalogues, press cuttings, video or audio cassettes, CDs etc.). Choose the best or most representative documentation/material. The additional materials you could send by regular mail or submit to the office directly.

The Board's decision will be announced in an official letter. Applicants have no right of appeal against decisions by the Local Board.

Grantees (supported project) should follow the procedure written in the official grant letter.

Who decides about the granting of applications

We work together with a local advisory board which consists of four local experts on arts and culture and one representative of SDC local coordination office. The board takes decisions on the contributions to Small Actions and can propose ideas for Cooperation Projects. The board decision will be announced in an official letter. The Aplicants have no right of appeal against the decisions.

The Cooperation Projects are identified by our office, in cooperation with the Programme Direction. The decision on the support of cooperation projects is taken jointly by Pro Helvetia head office and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
